RARE QUEEN VICTORIA LETTER TO DUCHESS SOUTHAMPTON
Fine undated letter from Queen Victoria to the Duchess of Southampton in her distinctive purple pencil. We have also included a fine CDV by Otto & Fiere of Paris showing Queen Victoria in a regal pose. Written from Osborne with her cypher at the top and on mourning paper she writes:
"Osborne
Dear Lady Southampton,
Perhaps you would (?) Lady Salisbury if she will drive right round the grounds to show them to her, and perhaps show her the church.
