Dunbar - A Famous Castle and the Story of Black Agnes, by R.J.M. Pugh

Booklet published privately by the author in 2011, 26 pages. A5 size booklet (N6164PE)

Dunbar is a small Scottish town in East Lothian, and lies on the coast around 25 miles east of Edinburgh, and this short booklet provides a fascinating (albeit brief) history of the town's castle during the Middle Ages. It includes an account of the 14th century siege.

From the introduction: This booklet.... tells the story of Dunbar Castle and examines its role in the history of Scotland between the thirteenth and sixteenth centuries. It also includes an account of the famous siege of 1337-1338, when the castle was defended by Countess Agnes Dunbar, wife of Patrick, 9th Earl of Dunbar and March against Edward III's invading English army.

The condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover has one or two very minor scuffs, but the staple spine is intact, and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a small price sticker on the rear side cover

When we post our books, we take great care in packaging them - first your book will be wrapped in bubblewrap, which protects the book and even keeps out any rain (in the event that it's raining when the postie delivers it!). Then we wrap your book in stiff cardboard, taking care to make sure all the corners are protected, and finally the package is wrapped in thick brown paper.
