This tool is engineered to compress most sizes of MacPherson strut coil springs.
 
The wide spring contact surface and built-in detent pins lock the spring firmly in position for safer operation. It quickly and safely compresses the coil spring, enabling convenient replacement of strut cartridges or strut assembly repairs.
The hook jaws are forged, and the central screw is heat-treated for long-term durability. Supplied with a hard plastic storage case for easy storage.

Operating Instructions

  1. Lubricate both main threaded shafts with oil before use.
  2. Align the hook jaws, retracting the safety pins so the jaws can fit over the coil spring.
  3. Place the two pairs of jaws 180° apart on opposite sides of the spring.
  4. Push the safety pins into the locked position to secure the jaws.
  5. Use a 3/4" or 19mm socket with a ratchet to turn the main shaft. Compress the spring sufficiently to safely remove the strut cartridge retaining nut.
