There is really no other reasonable explanation for this.
Leonardo was already a teenage mutant ninja turtle carrying swords and living in a sewer.
Apparently somebody looked at that situation and said:
So they sent him to the Wild West.
They gave him a giant feathered headdress.
A tomahawk.
A spear.
A battle blade.
A bow.
A quiver.
And then, in what may be the single greatest act of unnecessary accessorizing in toy history, Playmates printed on his official character information that he can launch an arrow:
OortYeet has reviewed the evidence and concluded that the bow serves absolutely no tactical purpose.
It may be decorative.
It may provide emotional support.
It may simply be there because nobody at Playmates was brave enough to tell Leonardo that a turtle capable of throwing an arrow seventy miles does not need archery equipment.
Leonardo has abandoned the relatively sensible lifestyle of sewer dwelling teenage ninjutsu and arrived on the frontier carrying what appears to be the contents of an entire weapons shed.
This would already be excessive.
Unfortunately, we read his official statistics.
According to Chief Leo’s original Playmates character information, his furthest arrow shot is:
That is approximately 70 miles.
Playmates therefore packaged a bow next to a turtle who apparently does not require one.
We have additional questions.
Not Shredder.
Not the Foot Clan.
Specifically the backside.
Leonardo has objectives. No instructions are provided.
OortYeet considers this a public safety feature. The original character material describes Chief Leo as being worth his weight in horses and tree bark pizza.
Accounting attempted to convert this into United States currency.
