This valve body is not plug-and-play. After installation, the transmission must complete an adaptive relearn procedure using FORScan — a Ford-specific diagnostic software tool. This clears stored adaptive shift data and allows the TCM to relearn proper shift pressures and timing with the new valve body.
What you will need: A Windows PC or laptop, a compatible OBD2 adapter (ELM327 or OBDLink recommended), and the free FORScan software. The relearn procedure is straightforward and well-documented in FORScan’s Ford-specific service functions.
