I titled this 9 X 12 original oil on board painting “IN HIS EYES” because, from the moment I began working on it, everything centered around the gaze—the story told in a single, unbroken stare. This original oil on board features a lone wolf captured in a moment of raw intensity, watching the viewer with an expression that is both arresting and impossible to ignore.

As I painted, I found myself drawn to the quiet tension in the wolf’s posture: that perfect balance of power and stillness. I wanted each brushstroke to reflect something beyond the creature itself—to suggest intelligence, resilience, and the untamed spirit that defines wild places. Layer by layer, I built up the texture of the fur, the cool shadows, and most importantly, the depth in those eyes. They hold something ancient… something observant… something that seems to see right through you.

“In His Eyes” is a piece I hope doesn’t just hang on a wall—I hope it stops you. Whether you’re a lover of wildlife art, someone who appreciates expressive portraiture, or a collector drawn to imagery with presence and emotional weight, this painting is designed to make an unforgettable impression.

Thank you for taking a moment to view my work, and I hope this piece finds a place in a home where its spirit can be appreciated fully.
