John Cena closed his extraordinary WWE career in December 2025, ending more than two decades as one of professional wrestling's defining Superstars. A record 17-time World Champion, Cena surpassed Ric Flair's recognized WWE world championship record by defeating Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. His farewell year featured a shocking heel turn alongside The Rock, a return to his familiar heroic persona, and memorable encounters with Randy Orton, CM Punk, and AJ Styles. In November 2025, Cena defeated Dominik Mysterio to capture the Intercontinental Championship, completing his WWE Grand Slam. His final match came against Gunther on December 13, 2025, bringing his legendary in-ring career to a close. From the Doctor of Thuganomics to the face of WWE, Cena's legacy is defined by championship success, unforgettable rivalries, and his enduring "Never Give Up" philosophy.
