A small two-piece sensor that tells you the moment a door or window opens. One half sticks to the frame, the other to the door, and when they separate the sensor sends a message to your hub — which pushes a notification to your phone wherever you are. It uses a solid-state hall sensor rather than the old glass reed switch, so there is nothing mechanical inside to wear out or break. Once it is on your network it can trigger other things too: a lamp that comes on when the back door opens, or a routine that tells you the garage was left open.
| Hall sensor, not a reed switch Solid state, nothing mechanical to break. |
Tamper detection Alerts if the sensor itself is prised off. |
| Battery included CR2032 fitted, with a low battery warning. |
Works in routines Trigger a lamp, a scene, or a reminder. |
| Low battery reminder You find out before it stops working. |
