This offering is for an antique ca 1850's hand made folk art woven basket. The basket is made of splint and it measuring app. 5.5" in length 5.75" in width and 5" in height to the top of the handle. The basket was never painted, what you see is a natural bark brown patina with possible remnants of an early varnish. The basket has a tiny iron nail at each side with a round head that when viewed from the inside it shows the bent over tips are square. The basket is quite early, likely pre dating the 1850's and it's natural surface patina also bears that out. There are some breaks and losses on one end and a crack in the handle on one side at the nail. Overall, considering it's rare small size and very early age the condition is still quite nice. The buyer will pay a fixed amount of $ 20.00 for Standard Mail and we will include delivery confirmation, tracking, at no additional cost.
