A charming Zeiss Ikon Baby Ikonta 520/18 folding camera, dating from circa 1931–1937, during the Art Deco period.

Made in Germany, this compact pocket camera features a Novar-Anastigmat 5cm lens in a Derval shutter, folding bellows and a black textured body covering. The hinged front opens to extend the lens on jointed metal supports bearing the Zeiss Ikon name, then folds neatly away when closed.

Designed for 127 roll film, it retains an old film complete with its numbered backing paper—an interesting detail of its as-found condition.

All mechanical functions appear to operate correctly, although the camera has not been film-tested. Offered untouched, with no cleaning or restoration attempted.

An appealing piece of Art Deco-period photographic design for a camera collection or display.
