Up for auction or purchase is an authentic, highly collectible Edwardian-era antique leather combination wallet and coin purse, uniquely hand-dated 1903.

This piece is a genuine turn-of-the-century travel souvenir from the famous resort destination of Put-in-Bay, Ohio (located on South Bass Island in Lake Erie). Known as a prime vacation spot during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, souvenir goods from this era are highly sought after by regional historians and Americana collectors.

**DESIGN & PYROGRAPHY DETAILS:**

The front exterior showcases beautiful, hand-crafted pyrography (leather-burning) artwork. It depicts an intricate Art Nouveau or "Gibson Girl" style woman's face adorned with stylized ribbons, hair flourishes, and flowing lines. Beneath the portrait, the piece features a hand-burned inscription reading "PUT-IN-BAY–1903" along with a charming illustration of a sailboat, celebrating the island's iconic boating culture.

The right-side exterior panel is custom personalized with the original owner's name, "S. T. HAMMER", cleanly burned into the natural tan leather. Over the last 120+ years, the leather has developed a rich, dark patina and distinct vintage character.

**INTERIOR FUNCTIONALITY & MECHANICS:**

The interior features a multi-functional configuration:

- A flat leather slot/sleeve designed for paper currency, bills, or receipts.

- An integrated metal-framed compartment with a traditional kiss-clasp/spring-clasp mechanism for holding pocket change or small trinkets. The metal hardware shows honest age but remains intact and functional.

**DIMENSIONS:**

- Width: Approximately 3.25 inches (when folded closed)

- Height: Approximately 4 inches

**CONDITION DESCRIPTION:**

This antique pocket piece is in good vintage/antique condition, showing honest wear from its historical life. The leather exhibits expected surface scuffs, natural discoloration, fading, and interior wear from use. The stitching remains largely intact, and the metal coin frame holds securely. Please review the detailed photos closely to evaluate the exact cosmetic condition and patina before bidding.

A wonderful, tangible piece of Ohio history and early 20th-century artisan pyrography craftsmanship!
