Tonewood Cb-15 Open Back 5 String G Banjo Inc Padded Gig Bag - Left Handed Brand New Old Stock - NOS - Rare
The pot assembly on the CB-15/G is a 12 inch /"rim/" or /"Pot/" made of a sturdy laminated construction and it has 18 brackets as opposed to the usual 12 found on many entry level banjos. This allows the head to be tightened relatively evenly and is therefore less prone to head failure.
The banjo head* is the industry standard 12" Remo "Weather King". The bridge is a good quality 3 footed 5/8" Maple bridge with a Rosewood cap. The adjustable tail piece is of a simple yet functional design which when correctly adjusted will create sufficient "over Bridge" tension and in turn optimum tone.
The 22 fret Mahogany neck has a Rosewood fingerboard and is held in place with a Lag Bolt and a single co-ordinator rod which can be manipulated to raise or lower string height.
The traditional style headstock has reliable side facing geared tuners with white pearloid buttons for string 1 - 4. The fifth string is tuned via another Pearloid buttoned tuner mounted at the fifth fret of the neck.
Fret positions are marked on the fret board with acrylic "Pearl" dots and upper side of the neck at the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th, 12th, 15th & 17th frets.
