Original January 1938 issue of Silk Stocking Stories, Volume 2, Number 3, featuring a colourful cover by Peter Driben, the noted American illustrator celebrated for his distinctive magazine artwork of the 1930s–1950s. The illustration depicts a red-haired woman in green holding a cigarette holder and bears his printed artist’s signature.
Cover-listed stories include “Unidentified Woman” by John Campbell, “It Happened in Florida” by Peggy Milton and “Change of Heart” by Junia Caille. The back cover features a period Remington Noiseless portable typewriter advertisement.
Complete with all pages present. Staples have been removed, and Sellotape repairs are present along the spine/binding. An interesting example of pre-war American publishing for collectors of Peter Driben artwork, vintage magazines and period advertising.
Happy to combine postage on multiple lots. Please see my other Stocking Parade and vintage magazine listings.
