An attractive antique cranberry glass vase, believed to date from the late Victorian period, circa 1880–1900.
Standing an impressive 27 cm high, this decorative vase features a beautifully rounded cranberry pink glass body, rising to a slender neck and terminating in an elaborate crown-shaped clear glass rim.
The individually formed, ribbed points of the crown create a striking decorative effect, complemented by an applied, undulating clear glass collar around the neck.
The vase stands upon decorative applied clear glass feet, providing an attractive contrast to the rich cranberry colour of the body.
Small air bubbles and manufacturing irregularities are visible within the glass, adding interest to its traditional glassmaking construction.
A particularly decorative piece of cranberry glass, suitable for displaying flowers or as a standalone ornament, with considerable presence owing to its generous height and unusual applied decoration.
Period: Late Victorian, circa 1880–1900.
Origin: United Kingdom.
Height: 27 cm (approximately 10⅝ inches).
