Old Wheatstone wire bridge (also called Kirchhoff bridge or potentiometric unwound wire bridge), manufactured at the beginning of the 20th century (circa 1900-1910) by the famous Parisian house Radiguet et Massiot, located at 13 and 15 boulevard des Filles-du-Calvaire in Paris.
This scientific instrument used for measuring and comparing electrical resistances consists of a wooden base of 67.5 cm wire supporting a ruler graduated from 0 to 50 cm.
The metal measuring wire is present and stretched along the ruler.
The mobile wooden slider mounted on a lower rail is complete with its metal contact blade and its knurled brass tightening screw.
The upper brass hardware includes its six original screws and knurled terminal blocks.
The device bears the engraved metal manufacturer's plate as well as a hot stamp on the wooden ruler.
Under the base, period laboratory inventory stamps ("LABORATORY", "L. JOUET") testify to its historical university or scientific use.
