Large fossil, probable Pliosaur vertebra (large marine reptile from the Mesozoic, Jurassic period?, around 150 million years): massive vertebral center (centrum) weighing 3.6 kg.
Rare due to its dimensions.

Acquired in situ during a public auction as part of an inheritance (old private collection).

State of conservation:
Raw piece with very good preservation of the external spongy bone structure. The specimen underwent consolidation and regluing at the level of the natural fracture lines (visible under ultraviolet lighting), ensuring the stability of the part.
