A scarce antique half gallon stoneware jug with blue script for W&D Albany NY.

The photo with 2 jugs is just for comparison; the larger jug is a 1 gallon jug.

The half gallon jug was probably made in the Albany NY area around 1860-1870.

Measurements of 7.5" h and 6" base diameter.

Good used estate condition: solid and sturdy but with two small chips on the mouth. Otherwise good.

Here in Maine half gallon jugs with blue script are not common.
