Works great

This is a vintage Monarch Aire metal box fan, Cat. No. ML20, made by Veco of Chicago, Illinois. It is a cream/off-white painted steel cabinet with a wire grille on the front and back, a three-blade metal fan with a cream hub, and a molded cream plastic carry handle on top. A rotary control knob on the top reads “OFF / LO” (and presumably a second speed) on a silver-tone Monarch Aire dial plate. The plate also reads “2.7 Amps, 115 Volts, 60 Cy. A.C. Only.” It has a long cream-colored cord with a two-prong plug. The grille is held on with screws.

The center support bar inside has an “International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers / Union Made” label. A “Quality Checked by” sticker is on the side. The bottom has four black rubber feet.

A great addition for collectors of vintage fans, mid-century appliances, Monarch Aire, Veco, union-made USA items, retro home and garage decor, and anyone looking for a classic box fan.

Condition Notes:

• Vintage with age wear

• Paint chips and flaking on the top, including a scratched, rough spot near the control knob

• Light scuffs and marks on the cabinet and sides

• Dust and grime on the blades, grille and support bar

• Wire grille shows some light oxidation and marks

• Cord looks intact, with a tied bundle; please check the plug and insulation
