A handsome large antique Minton platter in the Chinese Marine pattern, dating to circa 1830.
Please note: a section of the rim has previously been repaired. The join is visible mainly on the underside but also on the upper side with close up inspection (see photos). The age and method of repair are unknown. Offered as a decorative display piece.
The detailed blue-and-white transfer decoration depicts a Chinese-inspired waterside landscape with pagodas, boats and trees, surrounded by an elaborate floral and scroll border. A moulded white gadrooned rim completes the design.
At approximately 42cm across, this is a substantial piece with excellent display presence.
