Really nice shawl-collar jacket from a collaboration Uniqlo did with Engineered Garments of New York in 2019. These sold out almost immediately and are now difficult to find, especially in larger sizes.
Made in navy blue & black marl knitted polyester, in a workwear style inspired by the US Navy dungaree jackets of WW2, it combines the comfort of a cardigan and the warmth of a fleece with the smartness of a tailored jacket. The fabric has stretch & 'give' but although it's unlined, it holds its shape well - it's definitely more of a jacket than a cardigan.
Satin patches on the inside help the pockets to keep their shape & stop the fleece from 'grabbing' on layers underneath (photo 6). The right-hand lower pocket is double-width and wraps around the hip to the back of the jacket (see photos 4 & 5).
Condition is very good, with few obvious signs of wear, except for some bobbling at the lower back where it's been worn while sat down, I think. This is hard to photograph but it's visible in photo 7.
Size: tagged L but please pay careful attention to these measurements and bear in mind it has some stretch & 'give':
- Across chest, armpit-to-armpit: 23.5" / 85cm
- Across shoulders, seam to seam: 20.5" / 52cm
- Sleeve, shoulder seam to cuff: 25.5" / 65cm
- Length down back, collar seam to hem: 31" / 79cm
Happy to answer any questions, provide further pics or measurements, so please ask. Please bear in mind it's a used garment that's had a previous life, and is sold as such, with no returns.
I'm thinning out my slightly excessive collection of jackets so please check my other items - mostly military/workwear in a similar size.
