2010-W Disabled Veterans $1 PCGS PR 69 DCAM Silver Modern Commemorative Dollar
🌟 Item Description
Up for sale is a certified example of a spectacular and deeply moving United States Mint modern commemorative masterpiece—the official 2010-W American Veterans Disabled for Life Commemorative Silver Dollar officially graded PR69 Deep Cameo by PCGS. Proudly struck from 90% pure silver at the historic West Point Mint facility, this elegant coin pays tribute to the profound courage, loyalty, and enduring sacrifices of the millions of wounded veterans who have defended American freedom.
The highly symbolic design layout represents a masterful artistic achievement by the mint's top designers. The obverse, designed by legendary United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Don Everhart, features a magnificent, high-relief portrait composition displaying the legs and boots of three distinct service members, with one profile clearly requiring the use of crutches. This poignant scene is paired with the powerful upper-rim banner quote: "THEY STOOD UP FOR US." The reverse, executed by acclaimed mint artist Joseph Menna, centers on a beautifully detailed Forget-Me-Not flower nestled at the base of an oak branch wreath. This tiny blue blossom has served as a global symbol of remembrance for disabled military personnel since the conclusion of World War I, perfectly supporting the central reverse message: "TAKE THIS MOMENT TO HONOR OUR DISABLED DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM."
Housed safely inside its secure, tamper-evident PCGS protective archival slab at a premium Proof 69 Deep Cameo tier, this coin boasts striking visual contrast. Heavily frosted, satiny details on the text, combat boots, and floral profiles pop vividly against intensely polished, mirror-like deep background fields. Fully authenticated and certified, this classic commemorative coin is an outstanding addition to solidify any modern silver dollar collection or military history portfolio.
