A classic E-MU Proteus 2000 z-plane rompler synth with 128 voice and 32 midi channel multitimbral capability. This is in full working order - clean and thoroughly tested with its original ROM installed - see photos.
It has a good front panel with nicely clicky buttons and dial and a bright clear screen, with working angle settings. Some scuffs on top of the case from desktop studio use, won’t be seen if racked. Has rack screws intact but not the ears.
This Proteus 2000 comes with the original factory E-MU Composer ROM with 1024 presets across 8 banks. This is not just bread-and-butter sounds as it's E-MU so makes the most of the z-plane filters throughout. Internally it has four expansion slots of which one has the Composer ROM, so still three left. The amazing range of patches are all documented in the complete printed operators manual it comes with, and a fun bonus of a full colour advert from the back in the day and a separate patch list to save digging around in the manual.
The prospective buyer is likely to want this because of the huge underlying power and versatility of the platform - simply add whatever E-MU ROMs you have and max it out eg PHATT, ZR76, TECHNO, XLEAD etc. As it is, it's already an amazing and unique sounding millenium-era workstation, just add a keyboard controller. This auction will include a standard UK mains power cable.
