Genuine TIME-SERT® 4412-321 M14 x 1.25 spark plug thread repair kit designed for first-time repair of damaged or stripped M14 x 1.25 washer-seat / gasket-seat spark plug threads. The short-tooling system is particularly suited to applications where the spark plug hole is relatively close to the surface and includes the specialist step tap, seat cutter, insert driver, wrench and five genuine TIME-SERT® solid-bushing inserts in 9.4mm and 16.8mm lengths.
The TIME-SERT® system uses thin-wall, flanged solid-bushing inserts for positive placement and mechanical self-locking. The specialist step tap follows the existing M14 x 1.25 spark plug thread, helping maintain alignment as the repair thread is formed. During final installation, the dedicated driver cold-rolls the lower internal threads of the insert, expanding the corresponding external threads into the parent material and mechanically locking the insert securely in position.

Step Tap Follows the Existing Thread
A particularly useful feature of the TIME-SERT® 4412 system is the specialist M14 x 1.25 step tap.
The leading section engages with the remaining original M14 x 1.25 spark plug thread. This allows the existing thread to help guide the step tap as the larger TIME-SERT® receiving thread is formed.
Maintaining correct alignment is especially important during spark plug thread repair because the repaired internal thread needs to remain correctly positioned relative to the spark plug sealing seat.
Washer / Gasket-Seat Spark Plugs
Kit 4412-321 is intended for M14 x 1.25 washer-seat / gasket-seat spark plug applications.
This is important because washer-seat and taper-seat spark plugs use different sealing arrangements. Confirm that your application uses an M14 x 1.25 washer/gasket-seat spark plug before starting the repair.
Two Insert Lengths Included
The 4412-321 kit is supplied with five genuine M14 x 1.25 washer-seat TIME-SERT® inserts in two useful lengths:
- 9.4mm – TIME-SERT® P/N 44125
- 16.8mm – TIME-SERT® P/N 44111
Select the appropriate insert length for the spark plug reach and available threaded depth of the specific application.
Short Tooling – Check Access Before Ordering
The 4412-321 is the short-tooling version and is commonly used where the spark plug hole is relatively close to the surface.
For applications where the spark plug sits significantly down inside a deep plug well, TIME-SERT® also manufactures extended-tooling M14 x 1.25 systems. Check the available access and plug-well depth before selecting the repair kit.

This is the short-tooling 4412-321 kit. If the spark plug is positioned deep inside a plug well, an extended-tooling TIME-SERT® system may be required.
Select the appropriate insert length according to the spark plug reach and available threaded depth. Do not assume that one insert length is suitable for every M14 x 1.25 application.
Metal chips created during machining must be controlled carefully. Follow the official TIME-SERT® installation procedure and appropriate engine-repair practices before carrying out an in-situ cylinder-head repair.
