This is for an antique corkscrew fashioned as a pair of ladies shapely legs inset with enamel and based on the Can Can dancers of Paris. The risqué legs are showing the tops of the female thighs and blue striped stockings down to the elegant boots. This is the same on both sides and the legs protect the worm whilst in the pocket. The legs are hinged to open at 180 degrees making the lever to use when pulling the cork. They are marked 'Germany' dating to the 1890s and these are in particularly excellent condition with no damage to the enamel, there are no chips or cracks and no fading of colours. Closed they measure 67mm (2.5") by 30mm (1.25").
