An antique English solid gold fob (tests around 9k, probably a little higher), set with an ancient Roman agate intaglio seal, engraved with a raven / eagle and cornucopia etc.
So collectible & perfect for wear on a chain!
CONDITION: All original and very good. Slight signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Seal very slightly scratched, please see pics.
DEFECTS: None.
DATE/MARKS: Fob around 1820. Seal around 2nd century AD. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS: 18 mm tall overall, base 14.7 x 12 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT: Approx. 3.4 grams.
