🚗 How Does It Work?

Combustion gases containing CO₂ can enter the vehicle's cooling system when there is a potential fault with the head gasket, cylinder head or engine block.

The supplied reaction fluid is used to test for the presence of combustion gases. A colour change to red can indicate the presence of CO₂ and may suggest a combustion leak requiring further investigation.

🛠️ How to Perform the Test

1.     Fill the tester with approximately 2ml of reaction fluid, below the chambers.

2.     Connect the tester to the expansion tank or radiator opening using the supplied adapter.

3.     Start the engine, preferably when it is already warm.

4.     Run the engine at a slightly increased speed to increase combustion pressure.

5.     Observe the reaction fluid for a colour change.

6.     A colour change to red within a few minutes can indicate a possible combustion leak.

7.     Carefully remove the tester after testing.

8.     Dispose of used reaction fluid after each test. Do not reuse the fluid, as this can affect testing accuracy.
