Original Imperial Russian postcard mailed in 1911, featuring the artwork “New Friend” (Новый друг) by Bessie Pease, showing a sleeping child with a doll.
The reverse is particularly interesting for collectors of postal history. The postcard retains three original 1 kopek Imperial Russian stamps and clear railway postal cancellations from Mail Car No. 112 on the Rovno–Vilna route.
Dated March 28, 1911.
The postcard was addressed to priest Ioann (Ivan) Lyubetsky in the village of Novoselki, via Lukashevka, Lipovets Uyezd, Kiev Governorate of the Russian Empire — territory now in Vinnytsia Oblast, Ukraine.
The handwritten message appears to have been sent to Ioann Lyubetsky by his daughter, adding interesting family and local historical provenance.
