Up for auction is a beautiful vintage coffee pot by Villeroy & Boch, featuring the vibrant and highly collectible Rouen pattern (1570). This stunning piece showcases a pair of exotic birds perched among colorful blossoms and foliage in red, blue, yellow, green, and soft lavender hues, all set against a warm ivory background with a fine crazed glaze that adds to its vintage charm.
The pot is clearly marked on the base:
“ROUEN – V. & B. M. – Made in Saar Basin – 1570”, dating it to the interwar Saar Basin era (circa 1920–1935), when this region was under League of Nations control.
