This is an antique one of a kind handcrafted and hand carved item. Figures of people and giraffes are on each side. It is heavy! It weighs almost 22 pounds. The way it looked to me as if it had hidden compartments but it is nailed shut. Each of the 3 slotted sides is made up of 3 or 4 boards but it does sound hollow when they are tapped. Sides stick out further than the base. I have dusted but not cleaned or polished. It measures 23.5x16x 8 inches.
