The Movieland Wax Museum in Buena Park, California, was the largest wax museum in the United States, operating as a major entertainment landmark on Beach Boulevard from May 4, 1962, until its closure on October 31, 2005.
Founder: Built by entrepreneur Allen Parkinson (inventor of the sleep aid Sleepies/Sleep-Eze) after he visited Madame Tussauds London.
Grand Opening: Opened with a Hollywood-style premiere featuring bleachers, searchlights, limousines, and silent film legend Mary Pickford.
