Novelty / Joke Magic Sword Snake Charmer Illusion, Shackman N.Y. Pocket Magic Trick with Key / Vintage 1980s

Genuine vintage example with colourful artwork and fully working mechanism.

Diameter 5.5 cm.

Markings on cardboard backing: ‘Copyright Symbol / SHACKMAN N.Y. 10003 No. 7312’.

Effect:

As if by magic, the sword appears to pass through the snake’s head / metal key, leaving it intact.

To perform, the key with the snake’s head design is inserted into the hole and the slider moved right. The sword then magically and seemingly chops through the snake’s head, yet leaving it in position, undisturbed, and in one piece. The same slider moves move both ways, allowing the conjurer to easily reset the trick to perform it again and again.

The original snake key is still attached to the trick by its original piece of string. Works well and in excellent condition. See photos showing all angles.

A quality older example with some great artwork, that is still nice and bright, without any signs of fading or wear, or cracks to plastic casing. In great condition and perfect for a gift.

Inset design features an Arab / Arabian snake charmer, wicker basket, with a temple and palm trees in the background.

A great close-up effect for the magician that fits inside a pocket and is easy to perform. Something to mystify.

Would also make a great office Secret Santa for this year’s Christmas celebrations / party.
