A stunning, pressed glass basket in vibrant blue, by Greener & Co of Sunderland, England.

The design for this piece was registered in 1888, as two separate numbers - one for the basket, and one for the handle.

This piece is marked with both numbers, 95935 and 98551. An almost identical piece is currently in the V&A museum.

The basket has a six-sided shape, with a delicate, scalloped rim and an intricate, geometric pattern to the exterior.

The handle has a thorned, branch-like design.

There are some fleabites to the base rim and the exterior, and some small chips and fleabites to the outer rim (examples photos 9 & 10).

Otherwise it is in excellent condition for its age, with no major damage or cracks.
