A rare piece of running and modern art history. This original 1980's Nike advertising promotional print poster was commissioned for the London Marathon, titled "Hitting the Wall - A Study". It features the unmistakable, raw, and expressive satirical illustration style of iconic British artist Ralph Steadman. Signed by the artist Ralph Steadman in black ink along the bottom right margin, it features the vintage Nike pinwheel-style block logo in green/black on the bottom right and a hand-written presentation name "Lucy" in pink ink.

Please Note: The poster exhibits noticeable paper rippling/waving across the sheet (as pictured), which is a common characteristic of the unusually thin paper stock used for this specific original 1980's print run. Otherwise in good vintage condition. Sold exactly as found to preserve the integrity of the original inks and paper. The colours remain bright and vibrant, with no heavy stains or major tears affecting the main artwork field. Unframed. This rippling can be significantly minimised or flattened through professional dry mounting or careful framing. Approx: 50cmx47cm. Please see pictures for further details.
