Antique Geared Can Opener Wood Twist Handle Bottle Opener Pat 1451192 USA

Unusual antique/vintage hand-operated geared can opener with wooden handles and a built-in bottle opener.

This is a neat old kitchen tool with an exposed gear mechanism. Instead of the later crank-style can openers, the large wooden cross handle turns the cutting mechanism as the opener works around the can.

Marked Made in U.S.A. and Patent No. 1,451,192. There appears to be another patent marking partially hidden beneath the wooden handle, but I cannot clearly read the complete number.

The metal frame also incorporates a bottle opener, making this a clever early multi-purpose kitchen tool.

In great vintage condition with age-appropriate patina and wear to the metal. Wooden handles are especially nice with no major cracks or damage noted. The gears and mechanism are intact.

A fantastic piece for a collection of antique kitchen utensils, primitive kitchenware, early mechanical gadgets, or farmhouse kitchen display.
