Bring a piece of vintage travel history to your collection with this pair of carved wooden antelope figurines, purchased at a street bazaar in Dakar, Senegal, in 1973.
Depicted in graceful grazing poses, these stylized antelope feature elongated legs, rich dark brown wood, carved textured details, and contrasting pale removable horns. Their smooth, rounded bodies contrast with the textured carving along their necks and flanks.
According to our family history, our grandfather purchased these carvings while on shore leave from the U.S. Navy. This history accompanies the pair; the exact maker, carving location, and production date are unknown.
