This drive is physically an LG BH16NS58. It has been professionally tested and cross-flashed with WH16NS60 v1.02 firmware for 4K UHD blu-ray disc compatibility. This is a firmware crossflash, not an originally manufactured WH16NS60.

Purchased August/September 2026 and just taken out of its original box to be cross-flashed. The original box and accessories are included.

These have drive platform MT1959. 

Original Firmware: BH16NS58 v1.03

New Cross-flashed Firmware: WH16NS60 v1.02

Each drive has been individually tested for functionality after crossflashing. During testing, I verified that 4K Blu-ray discs could be read successfully for multiple minutes without issue.

These drives have a cross-flashed firmware: WH16NS60 v1.02.

We strongly recommend leaving the drive on this cross-flashed firmware. 

Do not update the firmware. Any firmware updates may affect compatibility with optical-media archival software such as MakeMKV.

Do not attempt to flash or cross-flash these drives with any other firmware. Trying to install incompatible firmware modifications can permanently disable the drive.

Any attempt to update, flash, cross-flash, or otherwise modify the drive’s current firmware changes the drive from its original selling condition.
