Two vintage 1928 Irish Free State One Penny coins, both from the first year of Ireland’s distinctive new coinage introduced following independence.
Each coin features the traditional Irish harp with Saorstát Éireann on the obverse and the well-known hen with chicks design on the reverse, along with the 1928 date and denomination.
Both coins are in circulated, raw and uncertified condition. They show natural age-related toning, patina, discoloration, surface marks and wear. The two coins have noticeably different coloration, making them an attractive pair for an Irish or world coin collection.
