Product Concept
The proximity switch is constructed by hermetically sealing a reed switch inside a molded plastic housing. It is triggered by magnetic actuation. When a magnet approaches within a certain distance, the sealed reed‑switch inside the plastic housing will close or open and output a signal for alarm notification or remote control.
Also known as non‑contact limit switch, it can realize travel control and limit protection. As a non‑contact detecting device, it can be used for part dimension detection, speed measurement, frequency conversion counter, pulse generator, liquid‑level control and automatic program connection. It features reliable performance, long service life, low power consumption, high repeat positioning accuracy, high operating frequency and excellent adaptability to harsh working environments.

6. Objects may repeatedly approach and leave the sensor at intervals. Different proximity switches deliver different response capabilities to target objects, which is defined as response frequency.
Applications
Proximity switches are widely adopted in aerospace technology and industrial production. In daily life, they are applied to automatic doors of hotels, restaurants, garages and automatic hot‑air blowers.
For security and anti‑theft purposes, anti‑theft assemblies built with proximity switches are commonly installed in archives, finance offices, museums and vaults. They are also massively used in measurement for length and position, as well as control for displacement, velocity and acceleration.
Reed Switch Storage & Application Recommendations
1. Soldering time for reed switch must be less than 5 seconds.
2. Keep soldering spot at least 2 mm away from the glass tube.
3. Avoid ultrasonic welding with matching resonant frequency, as it may alter reed‑switch parameters.
4. Secure the pins before processing to protect the glass tube.
5. Bending or cutting positions for pins shall be at least 4 mm away from glass body.
6. The glass tube is fragile. Avoid impact and drop during transportation and handling.
7. Store reed switches in dry environment to prevent moisture damage.
