Lot 403A — 1911 Barber Quarter
This is a 1911 Barber quarter, 90% silver. Based on the photos, I believe this is the 1911 Philadelphia issue (no mint mark).
Grade
I'd estimate G-6 to VG-8, with VG-8 being a reasonable working grade.
The reverse is notably better than the obverse:
-
Eagle and wreath retain good detail.
-
Most lettering is strong.
-
Rim is complete.
-
Obverse Liberty is heavily worn, but the portrait and date are clear.
-
There is some staining/toning and a fairly significant dark area around Liberty's face.
-
I don't see evidence of a major scratch or gouge that would make this a clear "details" coin.
