This Listing is for a 56-57 Korina Explorer Prototype Replica, yet, finished out as a Custom Build.   The current YT video series, "57 Explorer Replica Build Using Blonde Korina," covers the new Build from design to completion, with an emphasis on the differences between the 56-57 Prototype and the finalized 58 design.

See the first eight pictures, of my first Blonde Korina 58 Explorer Replica Build, as a reference for this current/new 56-57 Prototype Build.  I included some other pics of past Builds and vintage Gibson restorations, as well.  Any guitar pictured is covered extensively on my YT channel, and in a Series  Otherwise, I'll update the photos as the Project nears completion.

I  typically use StewMac Master Grade Madagascar Rosewood fretboads, or Gabon Ebony at 24.75" Scale, but can easily cut a Custom fretboard/scale.  I use; Jescar frets, Kluson USA Tuners, ABR-1 bridge, and Aluminum Tailpiece.   I machine my own pickguards and controls covers per 57-58 Specs.

I am currently sourcing/will include a vintage set of Gibson or MJ Seymour Duncan humbuckers, yet, typically prefer the pickups be provided by the owner.  I can install the humbuckers or P-90s for no charge.  I custom build my wiring harnesses per 50's Specs., yet, can modify to suit the individual player.  

So, if you've been holding onto a set of "Holy Grail" pickups, now would be a rare opportunity to put them back in action, cause the Limba/Korina is an incredible tone wood for vintage pickups.

I only finish with Behlen/Mohawk Nitro-Cellulose Stringed Instrument Lacquer.  Regardless, every Build shows the character marks of a Hand-built instrument using Master Grade woods and sometimes vintage/used or Relic'd parts/hardware. 

I've been Restoring Vintage guitars, as well as Designing and Building Custom guitars for about 30+ years.  I was based in Nashville/Franklin, TN between early 2000's to 2017- primarily building hand-carved, hollow-body Jazz guitars per Robert Benedetto, Gibson, Gretsch, etc. Specs., and have shipped them worldwide since the early 2000's.
