This is an antique Art Nouveau style brass link chain for a hanging fixture or chandelier.

Given its look, I would estimate it dates from the early 20th century, circa 1910s or 1920s, though it could actually be earlier.

The entire chain measures 3 feet 8 1/2 inches long (113 cm). Each individual piece measures 3 1/8 inches tall (7.9 cm). They measure 3/4 inch wide at the top section and 1 1/8 inches wide at the bottom (1.9 cm, 2.8 cm). They are 3/16 inch thick (.5 cm).

I can only imagine the beautiful fixture this was originally attached to.

The brass has developed tarnishing and patina over the years. There are also scattered scratches and just age-related blemishes all about. When put together as a chain, it’s incredibly beautiful.

It weighs 1 pound 3 ounces (542 g).
