Vintage photographic copy, produced approximately in the 1960s–1970s, from an earlier original photograph believed to date from the World War I period.

The original image shows three servicemen of the Russian Imperial Army, including two men dressed in distinctive Cossack-style uniforms.

The seated man and the soldier standing at left wear traditional Caucasian / Cossack dress with prominent rows of gazyrs (cartridge holders) across the chest.

The standing man at left also wears a traditional kindjal dagger at his waist, while the seated man wears a large fur papakha.

The third serviceman, standing at right, wears a different Russian Imperial military uniform. An interesting grenade-type emblem can be seen on his large belt buckle.

The combination of Cossack clothing, gazyrs, kindjal and Imperial Russian military uniform makes this an interesting military group portrait.

The original photograph is believed to date from approximately the World War I era, c. 1914–1917.

IMPORTANT: This is NOT the original WWI photograph. This is a later vintage photographic copy, probably made during the 1960s–1970s.
