For sale is an incredibly rare and highly sought-after piece of Omega history — the legendary Omega Scarab (often referred to by collectors as the Drop Lugs or Tear-Drop Omega). Manufactured in 1938, this watch is celebrated for its avant-garde Art Deco architectural case design, featuring oversized, stylized scarab-claw fancy lugs that give it an immense presence on the wrist.
While most Scarab models were produced in smaller mid-size cases, this particular specimen is the highly desirable and rarest oversized version, measuring exactly 35.5 mm in diameter excluding the crown. The case is manufactured from authentic premium Acier Staybrite stainless steel, renowned in the 1930s for its high resistance to corrosion and its signature bright luster.
The original white enamel dial is paired with bold, crisp black Arabic numerals and a beautiful sub-second register at the 6 o'clock position. The magnificent hands are made of genuine blued steel, catching the light with a brilliant deep blue hue.

It shows honest signs of age, including a delicate and fine spider-web hairline patina typical for genuine antique enamel dials. Signed OMEGA with the classic logo. Fitted with original high-polished blued steel hands.
Case: Original oversized Staybrite stainless steel case with the iconic fancy scarab lugs. Shows honest, age-appropriate surface scratches and signs of wear that preserve its museum-level authenticity and historic character. Measures 35.5 mm in diameter, excluding the winding crown.
Case Back: Original snap-on case back. The interior is decorated with perlage and deeply factory-stamped with the OMEGA Swiss watch triangle, FAB. SUISSE, SWISS-MADE, the case serial number and the historic ACIER STAYBRITE hallmark.
