Original antique carte de visite portrait dating to approximately the late 1870s, depicting Elizabeth (Elizaveta) Bujwid.

The photograph was taken in Vilna, then part of the Russian Empire and today Vilnius, Lithuania, by the photographic studio Frères Czyż.

The photographer's name and “VILNA” are printed in red beneath the portrait, while the reverse retains the attractive original decorative studio backmark.

Elizabeth Bujwid is shown as a young woman wearing an elegant late-19th-century dress with a prominent white lace collar and distinctive pleated cuffs. Her hairstyle, clothing and overall portrait style are consistent with the fashion of the 1870s.

Elizabeth belonged to the Bujwid family. The Bujwid name is recorded among the noble families of the Vilna Governorate and was historically associated with Vilna and the surrounding region.
