🚢 Hyogo Port Opening Gold Note (Bakufu Note) 🚢
　The Hyogo Port Opening Gold Note (兵庫開港金æœ) was a paper currency issued by the Tokugawa Shogunate in 1867 (Keio 3), shortly before the end of the Edo period.
　Unlike ordinary Hansatsu (clan notes), this note was issued by the Tokugawa Shogunate itself, making it one of the Bakufu (Shogunate) notes issued during the final years of the Edo period.
　The note was issued in connection with the opening of Hyogo Port, which was scheduled to open to foreign trade on January 1, 1868 (Keio 3, December 7). The Shogunate intended to use these notes to support commercial and financial activities associated with the opening of the port.
　Denominations included 1 Ryo, 2 Bu, and 1 Bu, among others. The notes were intended for circulation in and around the Hyogo area.
　However, the timing of their issuance was extremely unfortunate. Soon after the notes were issued, the Tokugawa Shogunate collapsed, followed by the Meiji Restoration and the Boshin War. As a result, these notes had only a very short period in which they could circulate and were not widely used.
　Today, the Hyogo Port Opening Gold Note is an important and historically interesting example of late Edo-period Shogunate paper currency, reflecting the political and economic changes that occurred during the final days of the Tokugawa regime.
