A Yuan style Qingbai statue of a young man (novice monk?) holding a lotus flower , draped with ornamental beaded cord and flower medallions. Glassy, light blue-green hue , especially in the crevices of the sculpted drapery. Hollow base with hand molded interior and sandy texture, some remains from firing. H is 8”. Condition is close to perfect with minor soiling and very slightly abused edges of the lotus and folds in the draped dress.
