Up for auction is a late 19th-century antique doctor's portable medicine box manufactured by Whitall, Tatum & Co.

Chest: Crafted from solid hardwood with original brass hardware, bail top handle, keyhole, and hinges. The inside lid features its original plush purple velvet lining.

Maker Mark: Stamped directly into the interior wood rim: "WHITALL, TATUM & CO. MAKERS".

Bottles: Includes 9 matching square clear glass apothecary bottles featuring ground glass stoppers (8 held in the main grid compartments, with 1 additional bottle).

Compartments: Built-in wooden divider grid holding 8 bottles securely, with an open front compartment for tools, phials, or extra storage.

Each bottle measures 4 1/4” tall x 1 3/8” wide

Good antique condition with age-appropriate character. The wooden case displays light surface wear, minor scuffs, and natural patina. The brass hardware is intact. Purple velvet lining shows light age and compression marks from the bottle tops. Glass bottles and stoppers are intact with no major cracks; minor surface dust and age-related clouding present.
