The postcard was designed by artist ๐ฃ. ๐๐ข๐๐จ๐ and published by the State Publishing House ๐๐ฆ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ง๐ฉ๐ข in Moscow / Leningrad.
The dramatic aviation artwork depicts a young ๐ฃ๐๐๐ข๐ง / ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ฅ๐ข๐ข๐ฃ๐๐ฅ wearing an aviation helmet and goggles and holding the suspension lines of his parachute.
Behind him, the sky is filled with numerous ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐จ๐ง๐๐ฆ and formations of ๐ ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ง, creating an especially impressive image of Soviet postwar aviation and airborne training.

DOSAV was a Soviet voluntary organization devoted to promoting and supporting aviation, including aviation and parachute training.
It was one of the organizations that preceded the later and much better-known ๐๐ข๐ฆ๐๐๐ organization.
The combination of ๐ฃ๐๐๐ข๐ง, ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ฅ๐ข๐ข๐ฃ๐๐ฅ, ๐ ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐จ๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ก๐ง and ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ง makes this a particularly attractive example of early postwar Soviet aviation propaganda.

A Soviet ๐ฏ๐ฌ-๐๐ข๐ฃ๐๐๐ postage stamp featuring Russian literary critic ๐ฉ. ๐. ๐๐๐๐๐ก๐ฆ๐๐ฌ remains attached and cancelled.
The surviving postal cancellation extends considerably to the left of the existing stamp, suggesting that another stamp may originally have been attached in that area and subsequently removed. No definite identification of the missing stamp is possible.
