2026-27 Upper Deck MVP takes its place as the first hockey product of a new trading card season.

It may not be the biggest or flashiest hockey set of the year, but it's aimed at giving collectors of all levels something to collect - from those hoping to build a complete set to those looking for a rare hit.

Collectors can expect 10 base short prints, 10 inserts, 5 Silver Script parallels, 4 Stickers, and 1 rare card in every hobby box.

2026-27 Upper Deck MVP Hockey Checklist Overview

Collectors will get the traditional 250-card base set in the 2026-27 version of MVP. The set is broken into two sections - the first is a 200-card slate of traditional base cards, and the second is a 50-card mixed run of veteran and rookie short prints that land every other pack.

The entire base set is covered by three parallels found in hobby boxes - Silver Script (1:5 packs; 1:20 for SPs), Super Script (/25), and Black Super Script (1/1). Gold Script cards are available in blaster box bonus packs.

Because of how early in the calendar Upper Deck MVP is released, the product includes rookies who debuted late in the 2025-26 season instead of those expected to debut for the 2026-27 campaign to comply with NHL rules that state a player has to have appeared in an official game to be on a trading card.

But Upper Deck also has a plan to let collectors get a jump on the 2026-27 rookie class.

Though pack odds are tough at 1:400, collectors can find Rookie Redemption cards for specific NHL divisions. An even tougher pull is a redemption for the top overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft (1:1,250), which also has a Gold parallel (1:12,500).

There are no autographs or memorabilia cards in the product, but Upper Deck will include several inserts, including a handful of rarities.

Serial-numbered Colors and Contours inserts return. The insert starts with a Gold (/250) base insert, and Green (/20) and Purple (/3) versions give collectors a tough chase.

Upper Deck introduced Mascot Stickers and Welcome, My Name Is rookie stickers to the product last year, and stickers return in a more compact form. Instead of two sets, there is a single 100-card MVP Stickers checklist that features the NHL's top talent.

There are five common inserts in the product, and collectors should see an average of 10 of them per box. Each also have a Gold parallel (/99). Concepts include:

• Let It Rip (1:10 packs)
• The Slot (1:10)
• Clutch Performers (1:13)
• Gotta Have Hart (1:13)
• Welcome, Freshmen! (1:13)

While Mascot Stickers didn't return, the mascots themselves are back.

Mascot Lenticular inserts hit only 1:250 packs or roughly once per case (240 packs). There are 15 of the league's mascots on the checklist.
