Vintage Jozefina Krosno Amethyst Art Glass “Octopus” Pedestal Vase

A wonderfully sculptural piece of Polish art glass attributed to Jozefina Krosno, featuring the distinctive pulled-glass openwork pedestal commonly known to collectors as the “Octopus” or “Jellyfish” design.

The elongated amethyst-purple bowl is supported above a clear circular foot by a spectacular approximately 13cm openwork stem, formed from sweeping glass tendrils which rise around and support the vessel.

The amethyst colour continues through the tendrils, producing particularly attractive changes in tone as the piece is viewed from different angles and under different lighting.

Handmade character is clearly visible throughout, including variations and bubbles within the glass consistent with its method of manufacture.

A striking decorative piece in its own right and a particularly attractive example of collectible Polish art glass.
